Drove to town myself today. I was tired in the morning and listened to a mixture of heavy metal music, jazz, and hyper pop.
Beyond that I’ve been really liking “Moonlight” by Kali Uchis. I found it one night browsing when it was used as a Dark Souls meme video. I think her voice is really pretty, the tune is lush, and I love the beat. It feels like I’m in a fog of pink clouds that smell like being young again. That’s maybe too pretentious. It’s an absolute bop, though.
Worked out of a Starbucks again. Yay me. Those fleas really set up shop in the building. They knew I was enjoying my time finally working out of an office again and said “nope. This man can’t be too happy or sad.”
Called and talked to my sister on my lunch break. She is awesome. In the end I got a couple of practical tips to help me with my current situation. She hasn’t lived through it but she’s incredibly smart and understanding. I miss her and want to visit her in LA soon.
On the way home I stopped at CostCo for rotisserie chicken dinner. I talked to my mom on the way home so I didn’t feel lonely. It was awesome talking to my family again. I’ve been feeling a bit isolated since moving in so it was really refreshing to hear from people I love who are in my corner.
There was a recruiter at work who had a real smug/asshole-ish reply to an honest mistake I made regarding paperwork. To my credit I messed up from plain ignorance. If I was never taught then it’s not entirely my fault when I make the error, right? Either way his manager, who was on the email chain, replied in my defense, and then my manager did the same. I hope he ate his fucking words and got some indigestion from them.
