Marie visited me at work yesterday and it really turned the whole day around.
It’s kinda funny because I’ve been working out of a Starbucks. But it’s where I work, so she technically did visit me at work. It might be more appropriate to say she visited me while I was working, but that doesn’t sound as good to me.
I was sitting at one of the tables with an outlet nearby. It’s kinda tucked away so people can’t immediately see me. She walked around the corner and at first I thought it was just someone looking for a place to sit, and then the realization struck me. Even though it took a minute she still stuck out to me. My initial thought was that the person was cute, and I was right! I’m tickled by the reality that I didn’t realize at first. It’s probably because I had to look up, so I didn’t see her face until last.
She watched me work for a minute then had to leave, because she came after getting gas so we didn’t have to stop at work.
It’s nice knowing I can appreciate the small things. I’ve definitely been missing our evenings at the apartments. Partially because I could control the evening, and partially because I could do what I want without worrying it’s somehow upset someone who refuses to communicate.
Even then, I really loved seeing her. We’re slowly adjusting to this temporary lifestyle, and I know in the end we’ll come out stronger. You know what they say about forests and trees: can’t see ‘em until you run into, or out, of one.
Love you dad, mom, sis, kitty, Amelia, Emerson, Marie
