The sun was out today. It made our home warm in the morning, and for that I was grateful.
My dad also texted me yesterday afternoon saying he had found a job and was starting training on Monday. He got laid off around October or November, I believe. I am extremely grateful it happened now since his unemployment would run out in March. When I talked to my parents about it my mom said she would likely just start to collect social security, but she wants to wait a few more years because it’ll allow her to collect more.
I have been worrying about them a lot lately, and knowing he has work is a huge weight off my shoulders. I won’t stop thinking and worrying about my parents since I love them, but I don’t have to worry as much. They are all the way in Colorado, so I could always go see them in an emergency setting, but it would take a bit of planning.
The kids and I ran a few errands today. We got some brackets for my bar so I could finish assembling it, went and got a non-stick pan at a nearby home goods store, and then finished up at the library. I needed to print a paper for Emerson’s school registration. He’ll be starting TK in August if all things go well.
Marie made a lovely dinner, and her family came over. It was actually really nice having them over. I usually don’t enjoy it, but I have taken the pressure off myself by letting Marie do what she needs to prep. It’s helpful we live in town now because they don’t have to milk every moment and stay until I am annoyed.
When the sun set Amelia was riding her scooter and I was cleaning up some of the things from the move in the garage. We got our fridge magnets back, and that bit of personality really added a lot to the space.
Things are coming together.
With love to my family,
- E.B.
