By Day’s End

The end to a three day weekend. I felt the first moments of relaxation be washed away by the day’s end. I knew it would end. Nothing to be too sad over. I knew it would end. It’s always more bittersweet when you actually have to swallow the pill, though. We went to the grocery store as a family which is relatively uncommon. Usually it’s just Amelia and one of us. Our kitchen it stocked for dinners galore. I am sad and grateful for the workers who helped us buy our food. We all have to survive, but even then I want people to live.
