Volunteered this morning with a charity I’ve been with since we moved here to the capital. They help with promoting literacy in underfunded and impacted schools. A big part of their process is a book release party to celebrate the young writers and all the work they put into their pieces. Due to COVID they can’t have a physical release so they have a drive-through one set up. I helped assemble some tents and move stuff around, then I watched one of the booths. The rest of the day shone bright knowing I had helped a community outreach program that I think is doing stellar work. The shadow of the day rested in the palm of fortune and kindness.
