Father-in-law is home alone because his family is in Florida for Marie’s older sister’s new baby. Went and visited him for the evening. Took the pulled pork and had a quaint little dinner. Held the light for him as he worked on a couple of small projects. Watched the 1995 film Congo and laughed at/admired the practical effects. Can’t believe they actually followed through with the fucking laser gun. All-in-all another sweet day. I like visiting her dad when he’s solo. There’s less pressure on the event. I feel like I can just be—can simply exist, without having to perform to a certain degree. What it boils down to is that I’m more myself with him and Marie than Marie and her mom.
