I thought I would be able to leave work early today, but no dice.
Some of the other offices were planning on going to a baseball game in Oakland and they conveniently forgot to tell our team. My manager complained and got us on the list, but it was all so last minute I don’t think any of us went. Our team leader advocated for us to have an early dismissal, but that didn’t happen.
There was a system outage so we were all delayed by an hour or so, and after that got cleared up one of our teammates had all their stored passwords deleted by the IT person who helped clear her cache. That meant she was delayed even more, too.
Our manager, sort of bashful, messaged the group chat where we all communicate at like 4:23 pm—seven minutes before we all clock out—and said “I know it’s not as early as you wanted but if you’re finished with your work you can clock out.”
Like yeah no shit it’s not as early. I’m not mad, but I was a little disappointed. I was going to try and go to storage and get some stuff before having to get Marie, but alas.
Oh well. Tomorrow has great things in store, and I have high hopes for the evening one way or another.
