Broken Legs

2-1-21

Marie and I were fortunate enough to have some alone time this evening. We watched a movie and neither of us like it too much. We thought there was a lot of unnecessary violence. It felt like they added it to make the movie hard to watch but convinced themselves it helped make a mature movie. At more than one point the film forces you to watch someone get their legs broken which is not something I would like to see or think about.

Violence can exist in movies, it exists in real life. But violence for the sake of violence is hollow, and this film reflected that. I don’t want to go in depth too much. Altogether we had a nice time together and are thankful to have had, if only for a moment, a brief time away from Amelia. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that stuff.

Not too much else to relate. We’re still in the process of moving. Our new place becomes available on the 19th so we’ll have some overlap to move all of our stuff in due time. I am going to shampoo the carpets in the new place as well as this one so it’s going to be a busy weekend. Marie’s family plans to help since they have a truck.

In the end today was a fair day. Was very busy at work, had a nice evening, and fell asleep a lucky, fortunate, grateful man. Here is to more of that for everyone deserving in the future.

Love you Marie, Amelia, mom, dad, sis, kitty
