Wrote yesterday’s post at the park while Marie played with another girl. It was a warm day but cooled down toward the evening. The park was lively but not too crowded. A birthday party at one gazebo, a group of people playing basketball at the courts, some couples lying on the grass or tossing a ball to their dogs. It was lovely. Earlier in the day I took a nap with Amelia and enjoyed the subtle silence of being woken up by your daughter. I was exhausted, and will remain so, but for now the wind blows through the eucalyptus tree leaves outside my window and my allergies are subsided.

Also saw a squirrel with a watermelon rind relishing its fresh crunch.
