It was my dad’s birthday. I almost forgot. Only remembered because I looked at the calendar like a dumb man while drinking water from the sink and realized. He had just gotten back from a camping trip with the Boy Scout troop. It’s the same one I was in when I was a kid. He was definitely tired, but I also think he’s said because come the end of the year the troop will disband. The current scout leader is going to retire and none of the assistant leaders want to fill the role. My dad said COVID was the final push to the end. He has always loved camping, but my mother hasn’t. I hope he still goes with his friends that he made.
Love you dad,
