Another day. I will have to terminate one of our employees. I do not like being in this position. Who am I to decide who gets to have work? Not me. My job is to look out for the company’s bottom line. It seems so murky to shed someone for monetary reasons, but money is multidimensional and fickle. It changes people and hands. Something about the transactionary aspect of deciding who gets to earn profit in a system defined by it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. This will not be my forever, and may the skies rain forever on me if that is the path I walk down.
