Sat on the back patio with some beer and a black and mild while Marie put Amelia to sleep again. Other apartments blocked the moon from view, but it was full and bright. Looking out over the silhouettes of the sleepy homes around me at the indigo sky while the crisp, warm, acrid cigarillo smoke wafted away on the breeze was a lovely way to wind down the evening. Marie and I finished the second half of a movie and I adored it. It was a dramatic, science-fiction, love movie. It’s Art Deco inspiration and neo-noir soundtrack rounded out the night. I went to sleep thinking of what’s next to come.
